Starr - Birth Doula (DONA), MSN, RN With over 20 years of experience in the nursing profession, as well as extensive education in women’s health, labor and delivery, Starr has decided to pivot her attention solely to supporting women as a DONA trained birth doula. In her spare time, she is a mom to two teenage boys, project manager of her household, and keeper of the calendar so her husband knows what sideline to be on at any given moment. She is an avid reader who dabbles in being a goofball every now and then. After experiencing labor twice, as well as supporting over 45 women in their own labors and deliveries, Starr believes every laboring woman needs calm and unwavering support to help her feel empowered and safe in her vulnerability. Labor is not a one size fits all moment; Starr is here to help you have the birth you desire, whatever that might look like. No woman should feel alone or like she is in the passenger seat of her own labor - Starr strives to be the advocate every woman deserves in this impactful time.
When Starr is invited into your pregnancy and birth story, it is her honor and privilege to uphold you, your family, your pregnancy, and your birthing process. Her physical and emotional nurturing is evidence based, safe, compassionate, uplifting and tailored to your personal labor needs. It is never judgmental. Starr is a strong advocate who will partner with you as you navigate through all of the stages. She will never overstep or make decisions for you. Rather, she will provide information and guidance; ultimately she will be the anchor that keeps you steady and focused on the type of birth you are aiming for, even if plans change. She strives to keep the world, the doubt, and the concerns at bay.
