Monica is a Cornerstone Certified Postpartum Doula and mother of four who specializes in overnight newborn support. She provides calm, compassionate care during the postpartum period so parents can rest, recover, and feel supported with peace of mind. She brings calm, knowledgeable support into the home and adapts easily to each family’s unique needs. Monica became a doula because she is deeply passionate about supporting families during the postpartum period and helping parents feel seen, supported, and cared for during such a vulnerable transition. Her experiences as a mother have given her a strong appreciation for how different and emotional this season can be for each family, and they have shaped her commitment to providing nonjudgmental, compassionate care.
Her approach is gentle, intuitive, and highly personalized. She believes the best postpartum care starts with listening, so during consultations she takes time to understand what support will feel most helpful and what success looks like for each family in their own home. At the beginning of every shift, she checks in with parents for updates on baby, how everyone is feeling, and anything they would like her to focus on that night. From there, she meets families exactly where they are, adjusting her care to fit their needs in the moment.
During overnight shifts, Monica supports families with feeding, diapering, soothing, and helping establish gentle nighttime routines that encourage healthy sleep habits over time while staying flexible, because she knows every night with a newborn can look different. She also helps with baby related tasks that make mornings easier, including washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts, baby laundry, emptying the diaper pail, and light tidying in the nursery or main living areas. In addition to hands on care, she provides emotional support, education, and a steady, reassuring presence throughout the postpartum period.
Families often describe Monica as warm, easy going, and grounding to have in their home. She offers a nonjudgmental, supportive presence and honors each family’s individual feeding and parenting choices, including formula feeding, combination feeding, pacifier use, and all different birth and parenting journeys. She considers it a profound honor to support parents during this sacred season and is committed to helping families feel truly held as they navigate the early days of parenthood. Outside of work, Monica enjoys reading, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family. As a former flight attendant, she brings a composed, attentive, safety first mindset into every shift. She also prioritizes continuing education and stays up to date on evidence based postpartum and newborn care through trainings, webinars, podcasts, and ongoing learning.
